Bored of War. We’re Better at Sex & Violence.

Normal day…
Flavor of solvent wafts inside an air pocket.
When children hold their mouths open
Waiting to scream,
The same flavor perches on the edges of their tongues.
Only-
It’s labeled a rose-bed.
Thorns leave scars on their cheeks like dimples.

After money encourages the concept of “freedom”
Children bathe in the dust of ruins.
Wondering why rubble
Matches skin tone.
