The Innocent Obligations of a Dying Shrub

“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Cautious illustrations engender mainstream
Lavender. Children inject LSD
Waiting for contusions to coagulate
Explaining the sluggish posture
Consciousness. Concealing plain speculations
Inside a mental lexicon,
Normalized to perfection.

Judgments dealt from magistrates
Solidified by
Gavel strikes
Soft as fluttering eyelashes.

Wham. Bam. Thank you. Mam.
Tensing new sequences
As if virgin experiences demanded

Scribbled confession…

“When historians lack an authentic birthing hour
For cultural icons
Induce recycled-labor
Thus producing
Mother Nature’s reliable infant,
Allowing the death minute
To be a subheading for worship.”
